How the heck does this take up five and a half gigabytes? I’ve never used Unity, but doesn’t it let you compress your assets? I mean, the biggest asset file in here at over half a gigabyte zips down to one megabyte. Feels like something went very wrong in the build.

I just completed this game. Enjoyable and relaxing puzzle game, gorgeous art, a bit reminiscent of Glass Masquerade. Needed something calming yet engaging that could distract me from chronic pain and give me that dopamine hit.  Music was very zen, loved that every time I clicked or moved a puzzle piece there would be a musical tinkle that somehow works in harmony with the background music. Thank you developers for including this in the bundle for racial justice and equality!

I just finished the last puzzle, having downloaded the game yesterday, and I really enjoyed this game. The difficulty curve of the puzzles felt pretty nice, the art was gorgeous, and the audio ambiance felt simple and relaxing. I liked how the last puzzle was the mountain with the diamond top, same as the shape you make on the start screen, it felt like a nice little way to come full circle. Also, this was probably not intentional, but the single note playing whenever you pick up a puzzle piece or snap one in place reminded me of the thatgamecompany game Sky: Children of the Light, specifically how flying past certain objects in a very evocative late-game area makes similar one-note sounds. That mental connection added another, more personal layer to the audio design for me.

All that said, I do have a few small critiques: The edges of more complex pieces were sometimes hard to see against the flat backgrounds, and in some of the later puzzles (the panda, the person, and the orcas, especially) some of the pieces were so small that they were a pain to work with. There was also a technical issue that I stumbled across with the panda, where I ended up snapping a lot of large pieces together off to the left, and when I finally did snap them over to the static piece, only some of the pieces gained colour. A lot of other, unsnapped pieces were accidentally hidden beneath the part that was snapped but uncoloured. I ended up needing to restart the entire puzzle to fix it.

None of these issues ruined my enjoyment of the game, though, I'm very happy to say. I downloaded the game on a whim from the racial justice bundle, looking for a simple, pretty game to relax to, and I got exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making such a nice puzzle game.

Thanks so much for contributing Affinity to the itch.io bundle for racial equality and justice! I've enjoyed playing through the bundle and writing reviews on my gaming blog. Affinity next up in my review queue and my favorite puzzle was the panda!

This game is relaxing and fun. But it is still not optimized. Also, some of the puzzles have a background where it's hard to see some of the puzzle pieces. I had to give up after 24 puzzles because I can't strain my eyes anymore. Moreover, it doesn't remember your music settings upon close.

A zen almost meditative experience. A great brain teaser! Great work!

This is a really cool game! Puzzle games with gentle music are my jam. But would you consider adding some kind of hint system? I've gotten stuck on level 15 because the last three pieces (that fit together into one piece) don't appear to actually GO anywhere that I can see.

I haven't been able to get past the 1st level, I put the cookie together, but nothing else happens on the screen

When are you gonna clean your assets so that they don't unzip into 5Gb of ridicule?

I really wanted to play this game and it seems really fun, but sadly i've run into a problem trying to complete level 4. It appears the screen for the game is zoomed in with no way to zoom out, leaving me no way to be able to get the far left puzzle piece.  Ive tried putting it in window mode to see if it was just cut out the monitor but it stayed the same.  I'm playing on windows, any ideas on to fix it or if its a bug?

Hi, you've probably moved on to other things, but FYI the same thing happenned to me and updating my screen resolution to 1920X1080 fixed the zoom issue.

Same problem.  Additionally, there's no way to exit the game without force closing externally.
Tried the resolution fix. Similar problem on puzzle 16. I think there are pieces off screen.

i love jigsaws! this was very nice and fun and helped me relax a whole lot, even when i was trying to figure out some of the more complex levels. really enjoyed the whole atmosphere and the notes that play when you pick up pieces, as well as the beautiful images. puzzles were complex enough to be challenging, but not frustrating. i had a really good time playing, thank you!

Under Windows 10 the CPU (60-80%) and the GPU (100%) are very high when playing.
This is probably due to the fact that the FPS (frames per second) is quite high and goes above 2000-4000 FPS.

Apparently it's because of the vSync. Please just follow the thread:

QualitySettings.vSyncCount = ?;
Application.targetFrameRate = 144; // Maybe not a good idea to limit FPS?!

You may still need this here:

this game is a super fun and relaxing puzzle game, just putting jigsaws together. I highly recommend it when you need to relax and do something soothing!

While this game is probably perfectly safe and just poorly optimized, I would like to warn people that this 71MB zip file uncompressed to 5.4GB.

Furthermore, this minimalist 2D game runs maxed out on my 970M GPU.

I was just about to install it and saw that it was 5.4 gb--I can't justify that for a game like this. Why is it so large?

Very good question and I'm glad I saw this as well. Thanks for alerting people.

Same here! I saw 5.4GB once installed ??? OMG are you serious??
Not installing until it's optimized.

Please optimize, it doesn't make any sense to use 5GB on every single computer...

Cool! I'm a fan of jigsaw puzzles. I like the music too, very soothing, and I'm a sucker for the, like, playing a random note every time you click something, that sort of thing.

Hey, thanks! Glad you enjoyed our game! Letting the player be a part of the music was an important mechanic for us.
